to tame a beast you need to know the following:
-be above the level of the beast you want to tame
-have the correct food for the beast
-you cannot tame boss type monsters , there are also specific other monsters you cannot tame as well.
-you cannot tame a beast if you have attacked it. specific exceptions are present.
-when taming does not work, you will have to kill the monster, repetitive taming at once is not allowed
actions - you WILL attempt to FEED the beast, it will either be tamed or attack
also to tame large beasts such as dragons or griffins.
you will now need a riding permit which you can purchase at the item shop
once you have it tamed, you will need to continue feeding it food every other day or so, or the beast will go back to being wild.
now as for what to feed it You'll need to give something the monster would actually eat, for example, don't feed a trent some meat, or a golem something a living thing would eat.
the chances of you taming the beasts will be 10% if you're the same level as it, and for every 5 levels you're over it, it increases by 5%.
(For cait sith, it starts at 20% and goes up by 7.5%)
monsters which are normally passive have a +25% chance to be tamed
large monsters(monsters you can ride) have a -10% chance for you to tame UNLESS it is a passive monster, in which case the other buff applies.
now that you have tamed your beast, it is a lot weaker than before; when monsters get tamed their level goes to level 1, their stats are cut by a ratio depending on what level they were when they were tamed.
if a level 30 monster got tamed, its level would be set to 1 and its stats divided by 30.
now if you want to get its stats back up, the monster has to kill other monsters, it levels up the same way a player does, except it only requires 500 exp pre level instead of 1,000, so half as much, but if a monster kills another monster, the owner doesn't get exp, the party doesn't get exp, only the monster.
every time it levels up it'll get it's stats depending on its level, so a level 30 monster at level two would have 2/30 of its full stats, and at level 20 have 20/30 of their full stats.
also if a monster levels up to half your level, it won't be your monster anymore since it will see you as too weak to be its master, this does not apply to store bought monsters, in fact store bred monsters don't level up.
the half of your level loss effect only applies to players who are at level 50 or below.
those who are level 100 to 50 can get their pet to 3/4 their level before it disobeys them, and players above level one hundred don't have to worry about this.
and also, a new update pets can now have armor like players, but only one set, not multiple like players.
pets can't have a helm and pants and all that, they can have only one "pet's armor" that is what it classifies as.
this works just like player armor, and is priced the same as player armor.
