Each race has a race leader, a position which is gained by popular vote within that certain race.
restrictions do apply.
a player can not be put up for vote if they choose to decline the invitation to run.
a player cannot run if they are below level 50
a race leader does not permanently gain their title.
after every month, if for any reason, a race wants to select a new race leader, another vote is put up, with new candidates.
as a race leader you represent that entire race's game population.
any action you do will have a large political effect within the game.
if you get attacked, it would be as if they are declaring war on the entire race.
if you attack anyone, it will be taken as a sign that your race is in bad terms with that other race.
Additionally, a race leader has the right to banish anyone in their race from entering their territory.
They're responsible for making alliances and communicating with other race leaders.
they also will have the ability to make any rules or laws that their race has to follow.
they even have the power to put up a tax on the players and put that money into a race bank.
this lets race leaders rule kind of like a tyrant of sorts. Of course you can't tax the npc players, and as for those who refuse to pay, that's the leaders problem to deal with.
however, remember that if a race leader makes it so everyone dislikes them.
they can be voted out of that position as mentioned before.
once a player is voted out of office they cannot be voted in until the next voting, which as stated is only once a month.
a race leader above all else has to do what they do for the benefit of their race.
once you become a race leader, you will also gain a residence in the capital of your territory of course.
each race leader residence consists of the same basic layout, the race leader is free to rearrange the structure to their preference.

now about what happens when a race leader dies to an enemy race.
that race will gain all the losing race's territory for seven days.
meaning, all cities labeled as your races territory will now be labeled as theirs, except the race capital.
if you have a race Bank, the winning race also gets 30% of your total funds.
if not, each member of the losing race has to give 10% of their own Yuld to the wining teams race bank.
since anyone attacking the leader is considered an enemy of the race.
your race does not need to be in a war for a race to be considered an "enemy".
there are also other official positions that a leader may give other players, these are recognized as titles in game, as well as race leader.
To maintain the title of race leader, you need to log on at least once a week, if not, you will be removed from that title.
